Stars and Gems

Sources checked HAEGIN articles “What are Stars?”, “How to purchase more Stars?”, and “How to buy more Gems?”, plus the hub guide’s achievement line. Checked 22 Oct 2026.

Quick answer

Stars buy costumes, rides, furniture, and more. The count is at the top right of the screen.

HAEGIN says you get Stars from minigames, fishing, daily missions, ad rewards, and the Shop. The Shop purchase is made with Gems.

The Gems article calls Gems an in-game currency you can buy on Google Play or the Apple App Store. Steam lists in-app purchases separately. Use the shop button in the client you are playing.

In-game Achievements, checked on the Phone, award Gems and have five stages. Sell prices for individual fish and insects are not in the articles used here.

Two help articles each call their currency “the in-game currency.” Read together, they describe a pair: Stars are what you spend on the island’s goods, and Gems are what the mobile articles tell you to buy with real money, then spend on Stars.

Stars

From “What are Stars?”:

  • Stars buy costumes, rides, furniture, and more.
  • Sources named in the article: minigames, fishing, daily missions, ad rewards, and the Shop.
  • The balance is at the top right of the screen.
  • “How to purchase more Stars?” says the Shop purchase uses Gems, and that the game is free to play.

Fishing and minigames are the two loops with their own pages. Daily missions sit on the Phone with the rest of the mission list. The article mentions ad rewards as a Stars source and does not describe an ad placement. If your build shows one, it is optional.

Gems

From “How to buy more Gems?”:

  • Gems are described as an in-game currency for speeding progress.
  • The purchase path in that article is Google Play or the Apple App Store.

The hub guide adds a free source: Achievements on the Phone pay Gems. Every achievement has five stages, shown as stamps, and later stages are harder. That track is the in-game one. Steam also lists a Steam Achievements category. This guide does not merge the two lists or invent achievement names.

Other items people call money

ItemWhat a checked source actually says
Fish, insects, ores, fossilsSteam says you can sell them or display them. No unit price is printed.
UpgraditesA reward line on official coupon notice 8329 (500 Upgradites). That coupon’s window closed on 5 August 2026. The notice does not define the item.
Coupon GemsNotice 8329 included 100 Gems. Current reported codes are on Codes, and they expire.
Pet combination currencyThe hub says the cost depends on grade and does not print the number.

Spending Stars on a costume or a ride is the loop the Stars article is written for. A house full of furniture is the other sink, on Homes. Part-time jobs pay “rewards” in the quest article and do not print a Star amount. See Jobs.
